The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially announced that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course will kick off nationwide on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at all 37 orientation camps across Nigeria.

 Prospective corps members will begin camp registration on the same day, with the process running through midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026, as confirmed in a statement shared on the scheme’s official X handle. 

According to the NYSC announcement, the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place during the registration period, and the closing ceremony is expected to conclude the exercise in early February.

 The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, also wished all incoming corps members safe travels to their respective camps, advising them to avoid night journeys as they prepare for the start of their mandatory one-year national service.
