A 23-year-old British influencer, Brooke George, has been charged with murder Dubai after allegedly st@bbing a man she met online.

 According to reports, Brooke, who is from Gravesend, Kent, was arrested in the early hours of Monday and is currently being held by authorities in Dubai.

 The influencer reportedly travelled to Dubai after developing an online relationship with the 26-year-old man. She claimed her first visit to the country went well, but alleged that things changed during a second trip when the man became controlling and abusive.

Brooke alleges she discovered he had only booked her a one-way ticket and that she was trying to leave and return home.

 She is accused of fatally st@bbing the man but maintains that she acted in self-defence after being repeatedly assaulted and fearing for her safety.

 Her mother, Thereza, said she spoke to her daughter shortly after the incident and described her as terrified and crying uncontrollably. She also claimed Brooke appeared to have a badly swollen eye.

 A spokesperson for campaign group Detained in Dubai said Brooke's injuries and allegations of abuse should be fully investigated, insisting she should also be viewed as a potential victim of violence.

 The case has attracted international attention as authorities continue their investigation. Brooke remains in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
