The driver kept lamenting and he was right to do so. The road was beyond terrible. They offloaded the bus and I couldn’t find my travel bag. At this point, I was laughing, not today satan, not today!
I couldn’t sleep that night, the mosquitoes got to me (I just dey scratch leg dey go) and from the mountain behind our house, it was as if a thousand toads has a concert cause it was impossible to sleep with all the loud croaking.
The next day came with some relief. It was a food fest. After pushing a bus for some miles, omo I ate o. six plates if not more. We got to go round the village to visit relatives from my mum’s side with my siblings. My mother’s family has an A1 in hospitality. They kept bringing dish after dish and who am I say to no?
We also got a good view of the river Benue. I found my bag.
The charter was just for a day; to and fro so we had to prepare for the journey to Jos. i couldn’t wait honestly.
