DEAR YOU, STOP COMPARING - 20 hours ago

I see you, girl.
I see you standing in front of the mirror, staring. Staring again and again, wondering why.
"Why can't I be like her?"
"Why can't I just fit in?"
Baby girl, let me tell you something—you were never meant to fit in.
Don't compare yourself to someone else. Everyone has their own course and their own race to finish. The fact that someone has gotten to a certain point in life doesn't mean you won't get there too.
Everybody moves at their own pace.
Some people run.
Some people fly.
Some people walk.
And somehow, they all still arrive at their destination.
You know one thing I came to understand? Someone once said that life is like a bus ride. We're all on the same bus, but we're heading to different destinations. The fact that one person gets to their stop and gets off the bus doesn't mean it's time for you to get down too.
No.
You stay seated until it's your turn.
So, why are you so worried?
Why are you bothered?
Just because it feels like someone else is doing better doesn't mean your life isn't moving. It may not look like it, but trust me—it is.
Baby girl, take a deep breath.
You and that person were never meant to be the same.
Don't let comparison be the end of you.
Enjoy every single moment of your journey.
You are unique.
You carry things that no one else can carry the way you do.
The funny thing about comparison is that it only shows you your weaknesses. Meanwhile, your strengths are standing in a corner, waving at you and saying, "Can't you see me? I've been here all along."
But you're too busy looking at what you think you're lacking.
And before you know it, you begin to think less of yourself.
Baby girl, stand up.
Look at yourself again—this time with kinder eyes.
You cannot be anybody else.
And nobody can ever be you.
Even identical twins aren't exactly the same. They have different personalities, different dreams, and different paths.
So be yourself.
Enjoy yourself.
Embrace yourself.
And the next time you stand in front of that mirror, don't ask, "Why can't I be someone else?"
Instead, smile and say, "Thank God I get to be me."
Do you get it?
I know you do.
