A grieving father in Lagos has called for a full investigation after his nine-month-old twin babies reportedly died less than 24 hours after receiving routine immunisations at a local health facility.

 According to accounts shared by family members, the infants were taken for their scheduled vaccines and initially returned home without any visible complications, only for their condition to deteriorate hours later. The sudden deaths have sparked public concern and emotional reactions across social media.

The father alleges that the vaccines administered may have been fake, expired, or improperly handled, and is urging health authorities to determine what went wrong. He claims repeated attempts to get clear explanations from the clinic were unsuccessful, deepening the family’s suspicions. 

While medical experts caution that severe reactions to vaccines are extremely rare, they agree that any death following immunisation must be thoroughly reviewed to rule out negligence, storage failures, or pre-existing medical conditions.

In response to the incident, calls have intensified for Lagos State health officials and regulatory agencies to conduct an independent probe and release transparent findings. Public health advocates stress that accountability is crucial, not only to deliver justice to the affected family but also to maintain public confidence in immunisation programmes.
