The GBAYGI Tribe Project: A Journey of Teamwork and Cultural Appreciation.

As I reflect on our GST assignment, I am reminded of the power of teamwork and cultural exchange. Our task was to represent the GBAYGI tribe, a culture that was unfamiliar to most of us. With only a two of our coursemate having knowledge about the tribe, we had to dig deep to learn more.

The journey began with a few hurdles. Many of our coursemates were hesitant to attend rehearsals or contribute to the project. But the few of us who were determined to make it work persevered and put in the effort. We researched the GBAYGI tribe's customs, traditions, and way of life.

As we prepared for the presentation, we hit a snag. We had a misunderstanding about the song selection, which caused some tension within the team. But we didn't let that setback hold us back. We worked together, sharing ideas and insights, to create a captivating display of the GBAYGI tribe's customs and traditions.

To add an authentic touch, we brought in team members to wear traditional GBAYGI attire, which included gbagyi male clothing and black charcoal paint on their bodies. We also brought props such as replica guns, hoes, cutlasses, and pots to showcase the tribe's traditional way of life.

The day of the presentation arrived, and we were nervous but excited.  I was part of the dancers and we were decorated with traditional GBAYGI symbols and colors. Our team members wore their traditional regalia, and the food was laid out in a colorful display. We took turns presenting different aspects of the GBAYGI culture, showcasing their music, dance, and food.

The presentation was a huge success. Our audience was captivated by the GBAYGI culture, and we received positive feedback. We were proud to have represented the GBAYGI tribe in such a way that their traditions and customs were appreciated and respected.

This project taught me the importance of teamwork, research, and cultural appreciation. We learned to appreciate the GBAYGI culture and share it with others. We realized that cultural exchange is a powerful tool for building understanding and bridging gaps between different communities.

As I look back on this experience, I am reminded of the value of cultural diversity and the importance of preserving traditional practices. The GBAYGI tribe's culture is rich and vibrant, and it's essential that we learn from and appreciate it.
