“You sure are a waste of talent,” she concluded after sizing me up and I chuckled.

“So what do you say?” I started to say, to get her attention, “Friends?” I offered with my hand midair. She looked at my hand for a while with a grin

“I say, bodyguard and boss,” she took my hand. I couldn’t help myself, I burst out laughing, she had to nudge me to keep it down

“That’s ridiculous,” I mentioned but she only laughed before taking back her hand. “But, we’ll see how far it goes.” I accepted and she beamed.

“I’m sorry we didn’t take you to the main mansion,” Conner apologized when we got to one of my grandfather’s villas.

“I was about to ask,” I uttered honestly with my hands deep in my pockets.

“I decided that it would be safer for you here until your grandfather’s will is read.” He explained and I turned to him perplexed

What was this about? Why am I just knowing that the will has not been read? Where then did he get the information that I was the heir?

“Didn’t you tell me that I am the sole heir to of the Sterling group of companies and all of Sterling the third’s property? Where is this new development coming from,” my heart was beginning to bubble with rage as I sensed some dishonesty in his words. 

“Yes,” he answered rather calmly. “That is the information I got from the top,” he added and I laughed sarcastically.
