NSCDC Deploys Over 1,100 Personnel For Holiday Security In Bauchi State - 2 months ago

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed more than 1,100 personnel across Bauchi State to enhance security during the Christmas and New Year period. This deployment is part of a structured security plan aimed at minimizing risks to lives and property during the festive season.

The NSCDC’s strategy incorporates both covert and overt operations. The approach is designed to address security challenges that typically increase during the Yuletide. The Bauchi State Command has specified that personnel will work in coordination with other security agencies to maintain law and order.

According to NSCDC spokesperson Saminu Yusuf, the joint operations will focus on patrolling identified high-risk areas, protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, and providing security at public locations such as worship centers, motor parks, eateries, banks, and hotels. The objective is to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.

The State Commandant, Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde, has instructed area commanders, divisional officers, and tactical commanders to intensify patrols and maintain a visible presence in public spaces. He emphasized the need for diligence, focus, and honesty in the execution of their duties, and directed personnel to remain proactive and vigilant throughout the festive period.

Oyerinde also advised the public to avoid actions that could disrupt public order and to report suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office. He stated that the command is committed to providing adequate security and ensuring an incident-free celebration.

The NSCDC’s actions are part of a broader initiative to build community trust and encourage public cooperation, recognizing that effective security requires collaboration between law enforcement and residents. The command has reiterated its commitment to maintaining safety and public order during the holidays.

The deployment of over 1,100 personnel indicates the agency’s intent to prevent crime and respond promptly to incidents. Residents are advised to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and observe the established security measures during the festive season.
