Famine, a silent killer, that creeps in unseen,
A slow and painful death, that ravages the scene.
A land once green and fertile, now barren and dry,
A people once full of life, now gaunt and sighing why.

The earth that once provided, now withholds its grace,
The skies that once poured rain, now hold a empty space.
The crops that once grew tall, now wither and decay,
The rivers that once flowed, now dry and fade away.

The children's bellies swell, their eyes sunken and wide,
Their tiny hands and feet, fragile and weak inside.
Their cries echo through the land, a haunting, mournful sound,
As they search for food, in a world that's turned around.

The parents' hearts are heavy, their souls torn apart,
As they watch their children, slowly lose their heart.
They scavenge for scraps, in a desperate, futile quest,
For a morsel of food, to ease their eternal unrest.

Famine, a cruel and heartless foe, that takes and takes,
Leaving behind a trail, of death and endless aches.
But still we hold on, to hope and love and light,
And pray for a tomorrow, where all can eat and live tonight.
