Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Saraki, don pay respect to late Major General Abdullahi Mohammed, wey be former Chief of Staff to ex-Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua, wey don pass away at the age of 86. Saraki talk say Mohammed, wey come from Ilorin, di capital of Kwara State, na correct soldier, administrator, and patriot wey serve Nigeria with strong dedication.

Major General Mohammed born for 1939, be product of di prestigious Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, for di United Kingdom, and dem commission am into di Nigerian Army for 1958. He rise through di ranks come be di Director of Military Intelligence, wey play key role for di 1975 coup wey remove General Yakubu Gowon and bring General Murtala Mohammed’s regime.

After dis big political change, Mohammed con be Governor of Benue-Plateau State, and he hold dat position from July 1975 to March 1976. Under General Olusegun Obasanjo’s military government, he serve as di Director-General of di National Security Organisation (NSO), wey later turn to di Department of State Services (DSS), and he hold dat role till 1979.

After he retire from military service for di same year, he move enter di private sector, come be di Managing Director of Atoto Press Limited, one big printing company wey dey based for Ilorin.
