📖BIBLE TEXT: ISAIAH 40:1-2
🔎📖 Isaiah 40:2 “A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”
In the aftermath of the recent attack and killings of hundreds of people in Mangu area of Jos - Nigeria, a young child asked, why do they hate us so much? The pastor told him, it is our Lord Jesus they really hate!” So true! That is why the heathen rage and kings of the earth device vain things. The rage is first against the Lord, then His anointed. So when God sends the prophet, He said, “prepare the way for the Lord and for our God.” The world hates us because of His name. He will save us from the world because of His name!
👉🏽 HATED FOR HIS NAME SAKE
Matthew 10:22 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
We were born, called and commissioned to occupy in a very hostile and contested space. The kingdoms of Light and darkness are seeking to gain and exercise dominion every inch of space here and there is no demilitarized zone. As soon as your allegiance to Jesus became clear, you were noted as a worthy target by the assassins of hell. While the saints above cheer you on, hell will do everything to make you review your commitment or regret it. But remember, it is not about you! It is about the King of kings and He won’t let you be overcome by darkness. Let us rejoice and be glad, knowing that we are on the winning side!
👉🏽 REDEEMED FOR HIS NAME SAKE
Ezekiel 39:25 “Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name.”
After the devastation Israel suffered from its enemies, God promised to restore Israel’s fortunes for His name sake.
Just as God never left the Son to rot in the grave. But He raised Him in awesome power and made Him to sit at His right hand, He will also not let us be drowned in the evil floods that surround us. He will redeem us for His name sake! Be strong and be assured that He will come and save you for His name sake. He is the Alpha and the Omega of your life. Satan may kickstart the storm, but God will end it! Be strong and be assured that we shall end well, for His name sake!

Faithful Father! Please save me from seeking so much attention to myself in my tough times. Today I know that it is not about me, but about You and Your glory. Help me to be strong and bear a positive witness to Your faithfulness until You come and save me for Your name sake O Christ! Amen!
