You're Not That Important (and That's Okay!) - 2wks ago

Have you ever spent time mulling over how you might appear to the people around you? Ever had a sinking feeling in your gut when you pass by people and they laugh so you immediately assume it's at your expense?

People love to overestimate their space in other people's heads, assuming that every flaw they have is immediately noticed by the people around them.

And this can be blamed on several factors, including the constant need for external validation from others, cultural shifts, reduced social interaction skills and many more factors.

The truth of the matter is that, no one really cares. The people whose opinions are really worth it don't have the time or energy to nitpick everything you do or say. They have their own issues to deal with and lives to live.

And when you realize you simply aren't important enough for people to nitpick at every turn, your life becomes far easier. Making mistakes wouldn't feel so embarrassing when you realize no one even noticed the mistakes you made. Or if they did, they probably didn't care.

All in all, everyone has their own lives to live and each life has its own set of problems. Don't overestimate the space you take in people's minds and give yourself unnecessary stress and anxiety.

People do not care that much about you. Free yourself of that mentality and live your life how you want to live it, not how you think it's acceptable to live.
