Meet Curacao, the smallest country to ever qualify for a football world cup tournament.

The Caribbean island found in South America, boasting of a population of just 185,487 people with land area of 444km, made it to the 2026 FIFA world cup competition, topping their group in the qualifiers without recording a single loss.

The island broke the record which was formerly held by Iceland with a population of 399,941 persons in the 2018 FIFA world cup held in Russia.

Massive parties have been thrown in Curacao to celebrate this huge achievement, as the prepare to give their best in tournament, scheduled to take place in USA, Mexico and Canada.

While Curacao may be the smallest country to reach the FIFA world, it doesn't make it the smallest country in the world, as The Vatican city holds that record with a population of just 572 citizens.
