A LETTER TO MY CRUSH PART II

The next day, she planned her approach carefully. She waited until lunch, when Stev usually sat with his friends in the courtyard. Taking a deep breath, she approached their table, her palms clammy with nerves.
“Hey, Stev,” she said, her voice slightly shaky. He looked up, a friendly smile spreading across his face.
“Hey, Mimi! What’s up?” he replied, his eyes bright.
Mimi’s heart raced as she handed him the folded letter. “I, um, wrote something for you. If you have a moment, could you read it?”
Stev looked surprised but took the letter with a nod. “Sure! I’ll read it right now.” He opened it, glancing at the content, his expression shifting from curiosity to a warm smile.
As he read, Mimi could hardly breathe. Would he laugh? Would he think it was silly? But as Stev’s gaze met hers, there was a sparkle in his eyes that filled her with hope.
After he finished reading, he looked up, his smile widening. “Wow, Mimi, this is really sweet. I had no idea you felt this way.”
Mimi felt her cheeks flush. “I-I know it’s a bit unexpected, but…”
“Not at all,” he interrupted gently. “I think it’s really brave of you to share how you feel. I’d love to get to know you better too. How about that coffee?”
Relief flooded over Mimi, and she couldn’t help but grin. “Really? You mean it?”
“Absolutely,” he replied, his eyes sparkling. “How about this weekend?”
As they made plans, Mimi felt a weight lift off her shoulders. The fear that had once consumed her melted away, replaced by excitement and a sense of possibility.
That weekend, as they sat across from each other at a cozy café, sipping their drinks and laughing, Mimi realized that writing that letter had changed everything. What began as a simple confession had blossomed into a chance for something beautiful.
In the heart of Hilltop, a letter had led to a connection that neither of them had anticipated, and for Mimi, it was just the beginning of a wonderful adventure with Stev.
