THE WEEKLY REPORT - WEEK 21 - 2 years ago

Its exam week in the University of Jos. Everyone is clamouring for the spirit of reading but somebody will read and study and the brain will be doing disappearing messages. It’s like any new information replaces the old one. God abeg.
First paper – Thank God
Second Paper – Oh Lord
Third Paper – I Cast and bind any spirit against this academic journey.
We had papers back to back throughout the week even on Saturday.

Alot happened in my department. People were caught and made to sign malpractice form as usual (Students never learn).
Students keep finding new ways to cheat, the supervisors keep finding new ways to catch them. Psychology exams had the most drama. It was an outside elective course for us. We had over 500 students offering it across 3 departments; Psychology, Mass communication and Sociology. For us, it was a 4 credit course (one doesn’t play with a 4 credit course), passing it for some students was B.A.M.N (By Any Means Necessary).

The School’s Multipurpose Hall couldn’t contain our large number so we were divided into groups to other halls.
The invigilators envisioned what was to come and they placed invigilators at all corners. I was in a very tight spot. There was enough spacing, everyone was basically O.YO (On Your Own), all man for himself. It was so tight, you could whisper to a friend and he wouldn’t hear you, up the volume and you would get caught. To make matters worse, it began to rain heavily, the raindrops on the roof drowned the volume of the help you were able to get from around. No phones allowed. I was able to write and submit in due time. Person dey ask me who be Noam Chomsky and what theory of language development did he propound? Person wey me sef no know. I dodged the question o.😁

I got outside and that’s when I heard the drama that went down in MPA hall, some real shady business.💯
Some students were caught with all sorts of exhibits from phones to pieces of paper, one even had a full foolscap sheet. The boy had the whole note in there (Michael Scofield has nothing on him) some still managed to smuggle in with their phones, few managed to use it successfully. Some were caught and a scapegoat was made out of them (they will be writing the course next session). Some ladies used hijabs as  guise to smuggle in contraband. Of course they were busted.

We wrote one dangerous paper on Friday, FOUNDATION OF COMMUNICATION RESEARCH II, we came out of that exam hall as believers. We believed.💯

That paper will receive some serious prayer and fasting. It’s our HOD’s course (Prof. Danaan nice one Sir)😥

I thank God I survived the week, I have one more paper next week and I’m done. GST exam is the last one I’ll write and then real flexing begins. I can’t wait. My  brain is sparking right now.
There are some movie series with my name on it, waiting for me to give them a watch and I will oblige them soon enough.😊

More gist coming next week.
Stay tuned.
