Utd’s Bruno Congratulates Rashford On Barça Title - 20 hours ago

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has publicly saluted Marcus Rashford after the forward crowned his loan spell at Barcelona with a LaLiga title and a decisive Clásico performance.

Rashford, on a season-long loan from United, delivered one of the defining moments of Barça’s campaign with a spectacular free-kick in a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. The win secured the Spanish giants another league crown and underlined Rashford’s resurgence away from Old Trafford.

Fernandes, who has shared a dressing room with Rashford for nearly five seasons in Manchester, reposted an image of the England international lifting the LaLiga trophy and added a simple but pointed message on Instagram: “Congratulations my brother. You deserve that.”

Rashford’s future now becomes one of the most intriguing storylines of the upcoming transfer window. The 26-year-old is under contract at United until 2028, but Barcelona hold an option to make his move permanent for a fee in the region of €30 million. After the title-clinching win, Rashford made no secret of his affection for his temporary home.

“I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay,” he said. “We will see. This is a wonderful team, they’re going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special.”

His renaissance in Catalonia follows a difficult spell at United, where he fell out of favour under then-coach Ruben Amorim and was sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. At Barcelona, however, Rashford has re-established himself as a top-level attacker, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Fernandes also used social media to hail another Barcelona loanee, Portugal teammate João Cancelo. The full-back, borrowed from Al Hilal in January, added yet another domestic championship to an already glittering CV.

Cancelo has now lifted league titles in four of Europe’s top five competitions: Serie A with Juventus, the Premier League with Manchester City, the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and now LaLiga with Barcelona, in addition to an earlier Primeira Liga triumph with Benfica.

“Congratulations brother, you were already part of history, but now you’ve made an indelible mark,” Fernandes wrote, underscoring the pride felt in Portugal at Cancelo’s remarkable collection of honours.
