MRS JOHN and the children were in the ward together with LUKE. He was lying on the bed unconscious with an oxygen tube. MR JOHN had gone out to get them all something to eat. JASMINE and JASPER were watching the television and their mother was just staring into space. JASMINE stands up and walks to her. 

JASMINE

Mom?

No answer. MRS JOHN was thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. JASMINE shakes her.

JASMINE (CONT'D)

Mom?

The shaking brought her out of her thoughts and she sat up straight.

MRS JOHN

Yes dear. What is it?

JASMINE sits beside her on the couch. 

JASMINE

LUKE is going to be fine right?

MRS JOHN nods and smiles.

MRS JOHN 

The doctor says he has been taken of danger so he should be fine in some days.

As she was talking to JASMINE, JASPER walked to him.

JASPER

So when he wakes up he will be able to tell us where LEIGH is right?

He askes hopefully and JASMINE nods too. MRS JOHN felt like crying for a second but she takes back the tears quietly. 

MRS JOHN 

I felt like lying to you guys for a while, but I can't.

 She takes in a deep breath and sighs. She sits them both, drags a chair and sits opposite them.

MRS JOHN (CONT'D)

I'm not sure,…

 (pause)

I don't think…

(another pause and a sigh)

LUKE does not know where your sister is. 

JASPER

(confused)

What? I thought..

He kept quiet.

MRS JOHN

That's not now things like this work. He probably gets blindfolded before every journey. And even if he doesn't and he takes us there, we would just find out that they have moved.
