The day was like any other, hot, slow, forgettable. She had just returned from work, her body aching and her mind racing with things left undone. As she unlocked her gate, something unusual caught her eye. A letter lay at the foot of her door . No stamp, no sender. Just her name, written in handwriting she hadn’t seen in years.

Her fingers trembled as she picked it up.

The moment she touched the paper, a cold shiver ran down her spine.

It couldn’t be.

The handwriting belonged to Kazeem.

Her Kazeem.

But Kazeem had been gone for five years. Buried. Mourned. Forgotten , or so she had tried to convince herself.

She walked into her room, shut the door behind her, and sat slowly on the edge of her bed. The air grew heavy as she opened the envelope. The paper inside was worn, as if it had been waiting a long time.

“My love,” it began, “if you’re reading this, then something has gone wrong. I was never supposed to leave you. But I will return. Not in the way you expect. I just need you to remember one thing: Don’t go back to the place where it all began. Promise me."

The letter dropped from her hands. Her chest tightened. She suddenly felt cold, though the fan was on full blast.A knock came at the window. Soft. Slow. Twice.

But her room was on the second floor.

To be continued…

Sneak Peek – Chapter Two:

*The Reunion*

She rushed to the window. Empty street. No footsteps.

But on the glass, fogged by her breath…

*7429* scrawled in the same haunting handwriting.

And just beneath it:

"You have three days."

Her pulse quickened.

Why those numbers?

Why three days?

And why… did it feel like he was already inside? Let's find out 🤭
