Artificial Intelligence Gradually Transforming Education And Learning - 1wk ago

The rapid growth of digital technology has continued to influence many aspects of modern society, including education. One of the most significant technological developments in recent years is Artificial Intelligence, a field that focuses on developing computer systems capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence such as learning, problem-solving, and decision making.

In educational institutions around the world, artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an important tool for teaching and learning. AI-powered systems can assist students in accessing information quickly, organizing research materials, and analyzing large amounts of data. These tools can also help lecturers manage academic tasks such as grading, feedback, and student performance tracking.

Universities in Nigeria are also beginning to explore the benefits of digital learning technologies. Institutions such as the University of Lagos have increasingly adopted online platforms and digital resources that allow students to access learning materials more easily and communicate with lecturers outside the traditional classroom environment.

From my own observation as a student, digital tools powered by artificial intelligence are already influencing how students study and complete academic tasks. Many students now use AI-based applications to conduct research, generate ideas, and better understand complex academic topics. This suggests that technology is gradually becoming an important support system in the learning process.

However, some education experts have raised concerns that overdependence on artificial intelligence could affect students’ ability to think critically or carry out independent research. Because of this, many scholars argue that AI should be used as a supportive educational tool rather than a replacement for lecturers or personal academic effort.

As technology continues to develop, experts believe artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of education. The challenge for institutions and students will be to ensure that these technologies are used responsibly while still encouraging creativity, independent thinking, and academic integrity.
