Attending UNILAG was a dream come true,exciting, like it would be for any normal kid. But honestly, it isn’t as exciting as we watch in the movies. You actually need to read to catch up with the lectures so you don’t look lost.

My first day was boring and depressing, mehnn. I immediately said to myself, “I need to go home, this isn’t for me.” My roommate looked at me and was like, “Do you know how much we pay?” It wasn’t funny, but I was exhausted as hell. Still, I had to keep attending class.

Silly me,by the fourth day, I didn’t even want to go home. School became “that place.” I literally didn’t want to go back. But the lectures went smoothly, they stuck in my head, and they were understandable and interactive.

All thanks to my roommate. She has friends there, and literally, they were all nice. It would have been worse if I didn’t have someone like her as a friend, to be honest.

I’m terrible at making friends. I’m way too calm, and I hope it doesn’t affect me. I need to speak out!
