C’River APC Pledges Support For Otu, Tinubu’s Re-election - 11 hours ago

The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has declared its intention to dominate the 2027 general elections, pledging unwavering support for Governor Bassey Otu and the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu.

The commitment was reaffirmed during an inspection of the party’s ward and local government congresses in Calabar by the National Committee Chairman overseeing the exercise in the state, Samuel Yarnap. He described the congresses as peaceful, orderly and a model of internal democracy, noting that the conduct reflected a deep-rooted culture of unity within the party.

Yarnap praised party members for what he called their remarkable discipline and cohesion, insisting that the Cross River chapter had distinguished itself nationally. According to him, the state is setting a benchmark for how party congresses should be conducted, and is likely to rank among those with the most peaceful and rancour-free exercises across the country.

He urged members to sustain the spirit of togetherness as preparations quietly begin for the next electoral cycle. While acknowledging that disagreements are inevitable in any large political organisation, he stressed that such differences must never overshadow the shared objective of retaining power at all levels.

Yarnap expressed confidence that, with continued unity, the APC in Cross River would sweep all positions in 2027, from polling units to federal constituencies. He warned against internal sabotage and external infiltration, cautioning members to resist attempts by opposition forces to destabilise the party’s structure in the state.

Reassuring stakeholders, he said both President Tinubu and Governor Otu remain committed to the welfare of party faithful and are determined to entrench legacies that will strengthen the APC’s appeal ahead of the next elections.

Other party leaders echoed Yarnap’s optimism. Apostle James Anam, Chairman of Calabar Municipality, lauded the smooth conduct of the congresses, describing them as a reflection of growing political maturity within the party’s grassroots.

In a similar vein, Chief Koko Henshaw, APC Special Leader of Ward 4 in Calabar South Local Government Area, attributed the hitch-free exercise to the sense of shared purpose fostered by Governor Otu. He called on members to remain mobilised and focused, insisting that only collective effort would guarantee the landslide victory the party is projecting for 2027.
