A 26 year old Nigerian woman has shared a distressing account online after discovering that her husband, whom she married in December, may have lied about his age before their wedding.

 The bride said she believed her husband was 34 during their courtship, only to find his international passport listing his birth year as 1972  making him about 51 years old. The revelation, she said, left her in tears and questioning her decision to marry him. 

In a post on X, the woman lamented that she had previously rejected a 37 year old suitor, only to end up with someone she felt deceived her. 

She said her husband apologised but brushed off his age discrepancy, insisting “age is just a number” and claiming he didn’t know his own age. The story has sparked widespread discussion online, with many weighing in on the emotional impact of the discovery and what it could mean for the couple’s future together.
