Tension gripped Ilu Abo, a quiet community in Ondo State, after suspected gunmen abducted a woman and shot three other residents in a brazen attack that has deepened fears over rising insecurity. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, reportedly threw the area into chaos as residents fled for safety while the attackers escaped with their victim.

Angered by what they described as repeated security failures, youths and community members took to the streets in protest, blocking roads and demanding urgent action from the government and security agencies. Protesters lamented that criminal activities had become increasingly frequent in the area, leaving residents vulnerable and forcing them to live in constant fear. They also called for intensified patrols and the immediate rescue of the kidnapped woman.

Community leaders warned that continued silence and slow response could worsen the situation, stressing that peace and daily economic activities were already being disrupted. They appealed to the Ondo State Government to deploy more security personnel and adopt proactive measures to protect lives and property, insisting that residents deserve to feel safe in their own homes.
