The air was heavy with tension as Abigail's eyes welled up with tears. "Who is she?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

He took a deep breath, knowing he had to reveal the truth. "Her name is Sophia. I was with her last night."

Abigail's gaze narrowed, her eyes blazing with hurt and anger. "Last night? You mean while we were together, in this apartment, you left me alone and worried to meet someone else?"

He nodded, feeling a stinging sense of guilt. "I know it was wrong, Abigail. I was weak, and I made a mistake."

Abigail's face contorted in pain, and she sprang to her feet. "A mistake? You call that a mistake? You cheated on me, and you call it a mistake?"

He stood up, trying to reach for her, but she backed away. "Abigail, please—"

"How could you?" she shouted, her voice echoing off the walls. "How could you do this to me, to us?"

The room fell silent, the only sound Abigail's ragged breathing. He knew he had shattered her trust, and now he had to face the consequences.
