It was a bright, sunny afternoon after Jumu’ah at the Central Mosque. As is my custom, I remained seated after the prayer, supplicating to Allah, following a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Though I am not unfamiliar with royal regalia, what I was about to witness carried a deeper sense of honor.
From one direction came the soft melody of a flute; from another, the steady rhythm of drums. I paused, momentarily unable to make sense of it all.
As soon as I concluded my prayers, I rushed toward the sound, eager to satisfy my curiosity.
It felt almost as though it was my first time seeing a monarch. Every step he took reflected dignity and regard for his people and companions. In return, the people held him in profound respect—an unspoken bond that spoke louder than words.
Despite being located in the central part of the country, Patigi stands out as one of the most respectful and reserved places I have ever visited.
I pray that Allah restores and preserves their peace. Ameen.
