The Invisible Judge Within - 1 year ago

Have you ever felt a presence when you're alone? An undefined creature right beside you? Look inward, and you will realise it is your conscience.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines conscience as "the sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one's own conduct, intentions, or character."

My thoughts about Conscience:

The Silent Alarm: Imagine doing something wrong. Suddenly, your heart skips a beat. That is your conscience, sounding it's silent alarm, warning you of moral danger.

The Invisible Cane: When we stray from our moral path, conscience becomes an invisible cane, not physically visible but emotionally felt. It disciplines us, guiding us back to righteousness.

The Gentle Redirect: How often have you planned one course of action, only to change your mind after careful thought? That is your conscience, gently redirecting your footsteps towards the right path.

The Bridge Builder: Conscience helps us relate to others, often bridging gaps we thought were uncrossable. It's the voice urging forgiveness when we have been wronged, fostering unity and understanding.

The Truth Serum: Ever found yourself blurting out the truth when you had a lie perfectly prepared? That's your conscience, refusing to let deceit take root.

The Divine Within: Some say conscience resides in the heart, others in the brain. But perhaps it is more - a divine spark, the spirit of goodness planted within us. It is vulnerable, yet powerful, working hand in hand with forgiveness and pleading for righteousness.

Conscience: The Chief Judge

In the courtroom of our souls, conscience sits as the Chief Judge. It is impartial, When we listen to it, we elevate our humanity. When we ignore it, we risk descending into baser instincts. Do Pay attention to your Conscience.
