‎            About 1, 074 Passengers were attacked by unknown gunmen on the 7th, the 7th month — July — by 7 AM around the World Bank Roundabout, Owerri. Victims were caught in traffic when armed men ambushed them for reasons suspected to be driven by personal interests and mischief.

‎            On this Monday morning, the road was unusually jammed  or congested by trucks working on the ongoing project on the road. This was left to create a perfect room for the attack — not known by others but by the acclaimed gunmen. Many of the passengers were workers on their way to work, which they were to return home  after work, and some were students on their way to school that peaceful morning.

‎Eberechi Kamsi noted:

‎           > “We didn’t know what was happening, but we heard gunshots behind, and at that point, we knew it was danger knocking. On an attempt to escape that, not long after, we saw death flash — because they had gotten to us. I managed to escape because I had passed our bus before they got there.” (in pain

‎           The state governor has set 24 hours for mourning and warned citizens to stay clear till the investigation is done. He further stated that the road should be avoided every day like that Monday — 777 — revealing that there had been a case or accident of some sort tracked to this same date. He encouraged the citizens to stay safe.
