Fenerbahce Close In On €40m Ademola Lookman Transfer - 1wk ago

Turkish club, Fenerbahce are closing in on a €40m purchase of Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman with the Nigerian striker reportedly keen on the move.

According to multiple transfer insiders, including Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs held fresh discussions recently and are now very close to agreeing a transfer package worth around €40 million, including add-ons

The proposed structure generally being reported is approximately €35 million upfront plus up to €5 million in performance-based bonuses.

While a verbal agreement on the overall fee appears near completion, key administrative details remain unresolved

Both sides are still negotiating payment terms and the provision of necessary bank guarantees, which are essential before the paperwork can be formally lodged with the relevant football authorities and the deal can be completed.

Off the pitch, Fenerbahçe’s sporting director has reportedly been in Italy to push the talks forward, highlighting the club’s determination to get the deal done before the Turkish winter transfer window closes in early February.

Lookman is seen as a priority target to bolster Fenerbahçe’s attacking options as they pursue domestic success and aim for competitive runs in European competition, and completing this move would mark one of the club’s most significant signings in recent years.

For Lookman himself, the move would come after a prolonged period of speculation over his future. The forward has been linked with several major clubs in recent windows — including Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid — but those earlier pursuits either stalled or failed to materialise, leaving him still with Atalanta going into this season.
