R&B singer d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burkew, has been arrested in Los Angeles(🇺🇸) in connection with the death of a teenage girl. Her body was discovered in a vehicle registered to him.

Authorities reported that the remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez were found after police responded to complaints about a strong smell coming from an impounded car towed from the Hollywood Hills. The vehicle appeared abandoned.

Investigators later confirmed that the body had been in the car for a long time before being found. Rivas Hernandez had previously been reported missing in 2024 and was last seen in Lake Elsinore, which is south of Los Angeles.

Burke is currently being held without bail. Police plan to present the case to the district attorney, who will decide whether to file formal charges after reviewing the evidence.

His arrest comes during an ongoing grand jury investigation into the girl’s death. Authorities have not shared details about the relationship between Burke and the victim.

Earlier statements indicated that the singer has been cooperating with investigators. At the time the body was discovered, he was on tour, which has since been canceled.
