A Nigerian man whose marital drama has dominated social media after he swore a dramatic fidelity oath at his wife’s insistence has spoken out, insisting he acted to protect his home and preserve his marriage.

The man, identified as Frank, became the focus of intense online debate after his Canada-based wife, Ezinne Frank Nwanorue, publicly accused him of serial infidelity while he was still living in Nigeria. In a series of viral posts and videos, she branded him a “he-goat” and alleged that he repeatedly cheated on her back home.

Ezinne, who has been living in Canada, reportedly made it clear that she would only sponsor his relocation if he swore a binding oath never to cheat on her again. The demand, which many commentators described as extreme, was captured on video. In the footage, Frank is seen taking the oath, a moment Ezinne later shared online, further fueling public scrutiny of their relationship.

The controversy deepened when Ezinne openly celebrated the recent death of her mother-in-law, claiming the older woman had made her life miserable. That reaction drew widespread condemnation, with many questioning the health of the marriage and the emotional climate into which Frank was moving.

Amid the backlash, Frank has now defended his decision in a Facebook post, stressing that outsiders do not have the right to dictate how he manages his home.
