Spain midfielder Dani Olmo, along with five other players, clinched the top goal scorer award at Euro 2024 after each finishing the tournament with three goals. The other players sharing the Golden Boot with Olmo are England’s Harry Kane, Georgia’s Georges Mikautadze, the Netherlands’ Cody Gakpo, Slovakia’s Ivan Schranz, and Germany’s Jamal Musiala.
Unlike previous tournaments where assists served as a tie-breaker for the top scorer award, UEFA decided this year’s award would be determined solely by the number of goals scored. This change in criteria meant that Dani Olmo, who would have otherwise won the award on assists, had to share the honor with the other five players.
Heading into the final match in Berlin, both Harry Kane and Dani Olmo were leading the goal-scoring charts. However, neither player managed to add to their tally, resulting in a shared award.
