You are racing down dimly lit alleys, breaths coming in ragged bursts, legs burning and aching with the sheer strain of effort.
Fire burns through every fibre of your being as you struggle to put one leg in front of the other, running and running commanding your seemingly short legs to go just a bit faster. The night seems to be darker than usual as though the moon is forgetting to cast its light leaving the world dark and desolate, letting the shadows dance about freely.
Heart pounding in your chest, adrenaline coursing through your veins and fear clawing at your throat you keep at it. You keep at it never looking back and finally slip into a corner sharply all the while hearing the heavy footsteps following eerily close by.
You spot a gap in the buildings and dive into the shadows and quiet down trying and failing to silence your breaths as you tremble, listening intently.
You hold your breath and close your eyes tightly and pray to every God and god ever believed to have existed. Suddenly a loud whirring sound erupts forcing a terrible scream into the air.
You open your eyes suddenly and jolt scrambling up from the bed with your hands to your chest realizing that it was all just a nightmare and that horrible sound had been the blender. It had felt all too real.
