Nigerian Pop sensation, Arya Starr released an album 7 days ago and it reported hit about 2 million streams on the first day but concerns have been raised about how it's not hitting as much as it should.
As seen on X, one user @tolafairyxo argued that:
"Nigerians have been saying they want ayra starr success but the moment they hear streaming the start writing think pieces. How do y’all think it works, the reason why ayra starr hasn’t gained solid ground even after having massive hit it’s cos she doesn’t have a stable fandom that is willing to stream for her, anytime she releases an album or song. Those that knows how to do it properly would try to give their suggestions, but is always met with complaints and hostility".
This seems to be part of an ongoing debate about Arya and Tyla who many believe should be playing second fiddle to Arya but she seems to be ahead globally.
What do you think about this?
