Episode 7

He had overcome greater ones in the past.

It was a Saturday morning, I had already done a few chores at home. I prepared both breakfast and lunch. I dressed up, ate, and took off to the hospital.

As I got there, my mom had to go back home and freshen up, because she had to go to her provision shop (she had initially gathered up her savings, and her best friend - aunty Lydia, also lent her some money, which she used to start up a provision business.

When mom left, I was tired and exhausted from the house chores and my dad's situation, so, all that was on my mind was to sleep.

So, as I was lost in thoughts, I was caught by this feeling of dizziness, and I had to give in. I slept for hours, I only woke up when I felt some fingers, shaking beside my head, I raised my head up, and I discovered that those were the fingers of my dad.

He opened his eyes slowly, and managed to mutter Bri...dget. I answered "yes dad, I'm here with you." I was so excited, tears of joy ran down my cheeks. My dad was finally awake.
