Armed Forces Kills Terrorists, rescue Victims - 1 month ago

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have ramped up operations across the nation, claiming to have neutralized a staggering number of terrorists, rescued 67 kidnapped victims, and arrested 94 criminals, all within a mere two weeks!

Maj.-Gen. Olatokunbo Bello, the mouthpiece for Defence Media Operations, took center stage to unveil these "successes" between November 3 and 14. He boasted about the recovery of a treasure trove of weapons, including automatic rifles, machine guns, and even materials for crafting improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

In the Northeast, the troops engaged in Operation Hadin Kai put on an aggressive show in Borno and Adamawa States, claiming to have wiped out numerous Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters. Bello proudly announced the capture of 45 alleged informants and terrorists, while rescuing a single kidnapped soul.

Shifting to the Northwest, under the banner of Operation Fansan Yamma, the troops reported killing several terrorists across states like Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kano. They also arrested two suspects and rescued 13 more victims, alongside boasting about recovering weapons and livestock.

Meanwhile, in the North Central region, troops under Operation Enduring Peace played their part in the drama, claiming to have brought down extremists and arrested 16 suspects while rescuing five kidnapped individuals. The arrest of a notorious criminal named Ibrahim Wakili? A headline-grabber, for sure, but does it change the narrative?

Operation Whirl Stroke also joined the fray with reported successes across Kogi, Kwara, and other states, claiming they killed criminals, arrested 10 suspects, and rescued an impressive 48 kidnapped victims. The arrest of two gunrunners? Just another pawn in this elaborate game of national security.

In the Niger Delta, the troops of Operation Delta Safe intercepted an oil theft operation worth over N15.8 million, showcasing their prowess in economic sabotage. Even in the Southeast, with Operation Udo Ka, troops claimed to have kept the pressure on criminals, reporting a death and seven arrests.

Maj.-Gen. Bello took the opportunity to commend his troops on their “resilience” and effectiveness, urging the media to continue spreading “accurate” information.
