A Distinctive Design

Blue Jeans is instantly recognizable thanks to its sporty, dynamic lines and a hull adorned in a custom deep-blue metallic paint developed with Alexseal, aptly named 'Blue Jeans'. The 33.74m raised pilothouse yacht boasts an eye-catching aesthetic, making it a prominent addition to Asia's superyacht scene and a testament to Van der Valk's craftsmanship.

Collaborative Excellence

The yacht is a product of collaboration between Van der Valk and two Dutch studios: Guido de Groot Design, responsible for both exterior and interior design, and Diana Yacht Design, which handled the naval architecture. The result is a yacht that meets the owner's demanding specifications, including a maximum speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.

Technical Marvel

To achieve these speeds, the yacht features a semi-displacement hull with a hard chine V-shape, powered by two 2,600hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines. The shipyard's innovative design includes tunnels over the propellers to accommodate larger props and enhance efficiency. Additionally, the 4m aluminium tender, stored in the aft garage, matches the mothership and is powered by a 50kW Torqeedo 50 electric outboard engine connected to a 40kWh BMW i3 battery pack.

Exterior Elegance

Guido de Groot's exterior design is not only sleek but also functional, offering ample space for entertaining. The blue hull and silver-grey flybridge structure, complemented by dark glazing, create a visually stunning yacht that exudes both speed and luxury. The foredeck features a C-shaped sofa, a pop-up table, and an integrated sunbathing area, while the sun deck includes a retractable dive board, a first for Diana Yacht Design.

Interior Innovation

Inside, Blue Jeans showcases a fusion of Northern European and Asian styles, featuring a diverse array of materials such as multiple marbles, metals, and woods. Liquid metal panels, copper accents, and reconstituted teak trims highlight the yacht's sophisticated design. The layout is designed for multifunctional use, accommodating large groups for both day trips and extended voyages.

The saloon, with its tall windows and sliding glass doors, offers breathtaking views and natural light, enhanced by a fully lit Barrisol ceiling. The formal dining room is bathed in daylight from long windows and skylights, centered around a round, eight-seat Fletcher Capstan dining table.

Comfort and Luxury

The lower deck houses the full-beam master suite, featuring a sofa, desk, and a forward-facing bed flanked by liquified-metal doors. The guest cabins include a twin and a double with a shared bathroom, while the VIP cabin has an en-suite bathroom. The crew area, accessed from the galley, includes a crew mess and two en-suite cabins with twin bunks.

Awards and Accolades

Blue Jeans has garnered multiple awards, but the greatest reward remains the owner's satisfaction. Van der Valk successfully met the challenge of creating a fast, luxurious, and visually stunning yacht, despite the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Blue Jeans continues its tour, capturing iconic photos in front of landmarks like London's Tower Bridge, it stands as a shining example of Van der Valk's ability to exceed expectations and create bespoke yachts that are both technically advanced and aesthetically remarkable.
