All smiles and full of glee

You’ve suffered pain before, you’ve tasted the bitter fruits of abandonment. You know betrayal.

You know the way of the storm too well.

I sense the constant rollercoaster in your mind, the battle against the voice telling you, “You are not good enough. Everybody leaves you behind…eventually”

I see your insecurities.

I see you and I’m sorry, I cant save you.

I’m no saviour,  just an observer.

I am no hero, stop looking up to me.
