Suspected armed bandits have attacked the National Park Service (NPS) office in Oloka, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, killing at least five personnel, authorities confirmed. 

The raid occurred late Tuesday around 9 pm, when the gunmen stormed the facility and opened fire on officers stationed there, leaving several others wounded and residents in nearby communities shaken by the violence. 

Oyo State Police spokesperson DSP Olayinka Ayanlade said tactical teams, including the Mobile Police and explosive ordnance disposal units, have been deployed to secure the area and prevent further attacks. 

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, is reported to be on the scene as investigations into the identities and motives of the assailants continue.
