In the world today, it is believed that a woman belongs at home, or preferably, in the kitchen. It was the same regardless of country or race. Dora did not think so. She for one, did not like being in the kitchen. Not because she was lazy, but because she believed that the kitchen limits a woman. Dora had a wish, a wish people laughed at, but a wish she believed will one day come to pass. 

  A girl was questioned whenever she is sent to school, people say it useless. A lady is questioned whenever she gets a high position in her office, it is said she slept her way up. A woman is also questioned when she decides to run for a political position, she is called greedy. Dora laughed whenever she heard that. They all mean to say it is okay for a man to do all those, but it's suspicious and stupid when a woman tries to do same. She wasn't saying a woman should compete with a man, no. All she was saying it that a woman should be given an opportunity to step out of that kitchen or house and be able to prove herself.

  Dora is the only female child in her family and she does a lot of things her brothers do. Why? Because she can do them. She doesn't have to wait for them to get back home to get it done, she does it herself. Dora's wish is for every woman to be able to live for themselves and not by the words or beliefs of others. Dora's wish was for a better world for women and she believes that it will one day happen.
