JoJo Siwa isn’t hiding the inspiration behind her on-stage antics, and it’s as surprising as it is entertaining. The “Karma” singer has shared a juicy tidbit about how her grandma played a pivotal role in her decision to drink alcohol on stage during her recent Pride Fest concerts.

On the July 8 episode of her podcast, JoJo Siwa Now, the Dance Moms alumna spilled the tea on how this all came about. “My 21st birthday had just passed, and we were in rehearsals for ‘Yesterday's Tomorrow's Today,’” JoJo explained. “I suddenly had this urge to take a shot before performing, and my grandma, being the cool lady she is, totally supported it. She was like, ‘Alright, JoJo, you should do it.’ So, I thought, ‘Why not?’ and just went for it!”

What started as a spur-of-the-moment idea quickly turned into one of the highlights of her performances. JoJo revealed, “The crowd goes absolutely ballistic. They love it!” Following her successful Pride performances in L.A., New York, Miami, and Chicago, she decided to make it a regular feature. “At L.A. Pride, I brought out a jug of Tito's vodka. The audience was in shock, wondering if it was real. I just went with it and said, ‘It’s Tito’s, take it or leave it.’”

Adding to the fun, JoJo’s dancers now surprise her with different alcohol choices each time. “It keeps things interesting,” she noted. “But I did tell them they need to bring a chaser if they’re going to keep doing it!”

However, not all feedback has been positive. During a performance in New York City on June 29, JoJo faced a heckler who booed her. Never one to back down, she immediately called them out. “Who just booed me? Where the f--k did that come from?” she shouted from the stage. Though she couldn’t identify the culprit, she had a message for any future hecklers: “Respectfully, f--k you.”

JoJo’s transition from her Dance Moms days to her current more mature persona has been nothing short of dramatic. Her edgy new look, first showcased at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, featured dark makeup and a bold outfit inspired by her "Karma" music video.

Fans and critics alike are buzzing about this new chapter in JoJo’s career. Whether it’s her on-stage drinking or her defiant attitude, JoJo Siwa continues to stay true to her unapologetic self.
