In Jos, Plateau State, protesters have incorporated a church service into their ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstrations, which began on Thursday. The service, held at the Old Airport Roundabout, has drawn a large crowd, including Christian and Muslim leaders and former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung.
Protesters, waving Nigerian flags, blocked the roundabout, forcing motorists to find alternative routes through the city. Many participants view the church service as a way to seek divine intervention, believing that God can influence Nigeria's situation for the better.
Philip Madaki, a protester who arrived at the Old Airport Junction around 7:30 am, explained, “We’ve been protesting since Thursday, and today, we’re continuing with a church service. We believe God has not abandoned us and has the power to change the hearts of leaders.”
Madaki added that the service is intended to appeal to God to touch the hearts of leaders, making them aware of the citizens' suffering due to poor governance and harsh economic policies. The church service is seen as a spiritual component to their ongoing demand for change.
