SUMMER'S POV
“I’ll pay you two billion dollars to be my bodyguard,” Conner said with his hands buried deep inside his pocket, head cocked to the side and grey eyes boring into mine with compassion and intensity.
“What! Are you kidding me Conner?” I scoffed taking a second look at the man in front of me, he was wearing a tattered jean and a hoodie that looked like it had been washed more than a billion times. He’s got to be kidding me, I thought inwardly still scanning him
“Who do you think you are? Some billionaire?” I asked him, hands akimbo but he didn’t say a word to me or change his standing position.
“Do we have a deal?” his voice was husky yet it came out gently as he asked and I couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with him.
If he had such an amount of money, why not spend it on himself. I mean he sure does need a change of clothes.
“Look, I don’t understand what you are saying to me right now,” I shook my head sideways, “but I think you need to see a doctor,” I said to him as a matter of factly.
“Okay…” Conner answered lifting his eyebrows, “If that’s what you want, then I’ll do that… I’ll go see a doctor, but please think about my offer; there’s so much you can do with two billion dollars… a lot,” he advised me taking a quick look at my father who laid helplessly on the bed, I was forced to look my father’s direction too.
“Just make sure you see a doctor,” I repeated nodding my head.
“Have a good night rest, and thanks for tonight,” he said brushing his hands and I raised my eyebrows questioningly as he made a move towards the door, he seemed not to have seen the look on my face.
