‎Cristiano Ronaldo has allegedly refused to play for Al Nassr due to the fact that Al Hilal has shown interest in signing Ronaldo former teammate at Real Madrid "Karim Benzema"  from Al Ittihad, a move Ronaldo feels would destabilize fair play and balance in the Saudi Pro League, the deal though has been confirmed done reports @Fabrice Hawkins. Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of Al Nassr squad that played against  Al Riyadh yesterday due to his proposed strike and with the way things are going he is likely or might leave Al-Nassr this summer, with clubs in MLS and Europe interested in the 40-year old. He has a €50M release clause in his contract.

‎The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia owns Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Al Ahli, along with Al Ittihad. The PIF acquired a 75% stake in these four prominent Saudi Pro League clubs, with the remaining 25% controlled by a non-profit organization. This move is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to develop its sports sector and increase the league's global recognition.

‎Cristiano Ronaldo feels the PIF is investing more in other clubs and investing less in his club Al Nassr and has gone on a strike.

‎Ronaldo views the move of Karim Benzema to Al Hilal as a potential threat to his  title dream. Ronaldo is yet win the Saudi Pro League despite having been in the league since January 2023, and he feels that this year is his best chance to win the League with Al Nassr three points behind Al Hilal who are first on the log. It is however undeniable that the addition of Benzema would make Al Hilal a more dangerous side considering the outstanding players they already have in the team especially in the Striking department but the Al Nassr team is also stacked with lot of Stars.
