YOUR MINDSET MOTIVES - 1 year ago

You're Elijah.

One of the things I don't tolerate in the kids I tutor is negative words. To make them totally rid themselves of the "Aunty Teacher, I can't read, write or do this or that" mentality I tell them the story of Elijah story recorded in the book of James.

If you're of the same faith as me, you'll be familiar with that story..."Elijah was a man of liked manner..." and the story went on with the things that he did.

The story tells of the believe in God, oneself and selflessness unto others.
This story I've always told them, not for anything else but to assure them that if Elijah could proclaimed such and it came to pass then their words are as same powerful.

Lately, the I can't words have moderately reduced. It has gladden my heart to hear them say lately words like "I'll try," even when they get it wrong they still will say "I'll try again."

When you tutor with the right motives, you'll enjoy the work. This is applicable to every other field. So if you're not enjoying what you're doing, you may want to ask yourself...

am I here with the right motive?
