ALoma’s POV:
The loud laughter from the children playing at the backyard jolted Aloma awake. Aloma sits on his bed, confused about his surroundings. He rubs his eyes with the back of his palm, as though he just saw something strange .
He has been asleep for three hours, and had been having a bitter sweet dream not until his four junior brothers, together with his next door neighbors had to blare their alarm like voice, waking him up from this bizarre dream he found himself in.
Aloma’s eyes unconsciously roam around his room. The room is so small that he wonders how his legs could fits into the room. He is the first child of his parents, with five other siblings. They were all living in a single room apartment that could barely accommodate them.
Aloma gets down from his patched, poorly designed and uncomfortable bed. He stretches his whole body as if to get rid of the pains the “not so good “ bed has inflict on him, and with two long strides, he’s out of the room.
Aloma, standing outside by the door, stared back into the room. The room is poorly ventilated, stuffed and cramped. He sighs, shaking his head while causing at his self for not being able to make it. Still standing there, Aloma’s mind wonders off, and He could remember exactly what happened in his dream. His eyes, beaming with laughter, He recalls what happened in his dream.

The sun, high up in the sky, and descending on every living thing on the earth, shines brightly on Aloma’s face. Right at that moment, He sees a danfo bus ( yellow buses in Lagos) approaching. He smiles happily as he has been walking nonstop with no sign of any bus coming. Aloma, who is some meters away from the bus stop , walks back hurriedly to the bus stop , waiting for the danfo to come closer so he could hop in. He looks around, seeing the tired and anxious faces of waiting passengers; thinks on how he’d quickly grab a seat. The crowd begin mumbling happily, while getting ready for the bus.
Finally comes the long awaited danfo. Aloma begins pushing his way through the crowd. He continued struggling for a seat until his butt struck a nearby seat.
At that moment, it seems as though his village people had followed him into the bus , as his stomach starts making funny sound. That morning, Aloma had ate a plate of hot beans and bread. He never thought about visiting the toilet before going out, and now, it looks as though nemesis is catching up with him.
The bus is already on the road, moving towards mazamaza. Hahaha!!! Aloma laughed inwardly, he could not take it anymore. He calls the attention of the driver and begs to be dropped off so he could free himself of the discomfort. Immediately the other passengers shouted at him, warning him to keep quiet while blaming him for entering the bus when he knew he is having problems with his stomach. The driver, supporting the passengers, continues driving.
