Astronomer CEO Placed on Leave Amid Viral Video Controversy
The Chief Executive Officer of United States, Tech firm has been put on leave following a viral video clip from a coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The US based Tech Firm (Astronomer) in a statement via its Twitter page confirmed
the decision, citing its commitment to upholding its values and culture, which emphasize high standards of conduct and accountability.
"We are committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding, Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability"
According to the statement ,the footage, which was projected on a giant screen during the show, shows the Chief Executive Officer of the firm and another person embracing and swaying to music before quickly ducking out of view when their faces appeared on the screen.
The company as also launched a formal investigation into the matter, particularly on the clip, shared widely on social media platforms which garnered millions of views and sparked online speculation about the identities and relationship of the pair, that portrayed, Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, jokingly might be having an affair or just shy to protect the company's image:
"Our Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly."
It has appointed Pete DeJoy, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, to serve as interim Chief Executive Officer of the company while the investigation is ongoing on the matter.
The United States based Astronomer company also clarified that no other employees are featured in the video and has denied rumors that Mr. Byron has released a personal statement regarding the incidents.
Mr. Byron joined Astronomer firm in July 2023, and Ms. Cabot became Chief Executive Officer in November 2024.
