2027: Groups Rally Support For ADP Presidential Aspirant - 4 days ago

Momentum is building around the presidential ambition of Russian-trained neurosurgeon and politician, Dr Johnson Emmanuel Chukwuka, as multiple support groups from all six geopolitical zones declare backing for his bid under the Action Democratic Party ADP.

Dr Chukwuka, a former vice-presidential candidate of the Action Alliance and now a key stakeholder in the ADP, is emerging as a rallying point for organisations seeking what they describe as a credible alternative to the country’s dominant political blocs.

Among the coalitions endorsing him are The Patriots Movement, New Direction for Nigeria Movement, and the Voters Engagement for Coalition of Six Geopolitical Zone Group for Democratic Transparency in Nigeria. Their leaders say their decision is rooted in his record of leadership, philanthropy and youth empowerment rather than ethnic or religious considerations.

Director General of The Patriots Movement, Sani Darma, described Chukwuka as a “political juggernaut” whose experience as a medical practitioner and politician positions him as a natural successor to President Bola Tinubu. Darma claimed his group commands about six million members nationwide, all committed to working for Chukwuka’s emergence.

He said Chukwuka’s long-standing philanthropic work and refusal to discriminate along tribal or religious lines convinced the movement that he could “bring solutions to Nigeria’s challenges and move the country to greater heights.”

National Convener of the New Direction for Nigeria Movement, Comrade Mark Adebayo, argued that Chukwuka’s background as a surgeon is symbolic for a country he believes needs a “surgical operation” to reset its governance and economy. He insisted that only a visionary leader with a clear reform agenda can address Nigeria’s deep-rooted problems.

Abdulmutalib Gambo Dauda, National Coordinator of the Voters Engagement coalition, highlighted Chukwuka’s efforts to place young people in leadership positions, support small businesses and expand access to education for the less privileged. These initiatives, he said, have earned him recognition across the federation.

Chukwuka has pledged that, if elected, he will prioritise job creation, tackle insecurity, upgrade infrastructure and improve healthcare. He also cited his role in facilitating Russian interest in the Ajaokuta steel project and rail investments as evidence of his capacity to attract strategic partnerships.

Supporters such as Mrs Juliet Isakwa are now urging the ADP leadership to adopt Chukwuka as its presidential flag bearer, arguing that his popularity and cross-regional appeal give the party a realistic chance in the 2027 race.
