THE FLAME KEEPER 3 - 2 years ago

Back up! Back up! A moment yet

Let me tell you a story,

It's not a story you'd forget

So quickly in a hurry!

Its spins of gore can astonish

The thickest war veteran,

For what sort of power can unleash

A reign of terror sudden?—

About a hundred years ago

We laid seige on a country,

We thought that we would win that war

For we were vile and lucky.

But their mages, they thought otherwise

And thus they cooked up magic

(And till today they still deny

The curse was from their magic)

All our soldiers slaughtered in a foreign land,

And what was worse gory beasts stole over our land,

To prey on our poor indigenes who often stayed out late,

That very soon we had no choice but to close up all our gates!

The king also he had no choice, he made a truce with the enemy,

And only when we've successfully

Kill all these creatures that continue to subdue

Will that great war continue!

This story is more than a century old.

Our great big war is still on hold.

The wretched continue to multiply

And put all our people in misery.

The surrounding kingdoms they prosper

Whilst we are distracted by terror.

Hopefully when we've destroyed the devil's spawn,

We will rise up from the ashes again.

Over a century, t'is what has been learned:

•Only a flaming weapon can kill the wretched.

•The wretched fear the sun.

•In dark of night the wretched are dreaded.

•They lie in wait in darkness for the day to be done.

•Throughout their history, it's not been recorded

Them entering residences closed to shun.

•Throughout their history, they've never invaded.

•Out there on moonless nights they like to roam.

• It's the job of flame keepers to slaughter the wretched.

While everyone else is inside, they're outside.

Though having good stipends, they often wind up dead

Less than a year since they were hired.

•On account of their deaths, their closest living relatives will get a compensation of outstanding amount.

As for what I've learned, there isn't much to count!

My crafty foster parents are crowding round like hounds.
