A Journey I Made - 9 months ago

We were onboard a cruiser ship, beautifully crafted, magnanimous in structure,a structure so magnificent that it drew forth sighs from the most stoic of hearts.

Today, however, our sea vessel set to embark upon a journey to the suntanned island of Hawaii,a journey set to leave lasting impressions. Magicians, musicians, traders alike all marketing their wares with zeal and unparalleled zest. However, one magician stood out,at first glance he seemed like an ordinary artist practicing his art,but something about him seemed to draw me towards him, like metal to a magnet.

The magician was flanked by a troupe of musicians all drumming with fervor, while he exhibited smooth moves with heightened ardor. He put forth a show with his skills earning an applaud from the audience, the magician had yet another trick up his sleeve, at his behest the four troupe members separated themselves from the group each armed with local guns, hostile intent clearly shown on their faces.

The magician however, seemed indifferent to the circumstance before him and danced more with all vigour, they aimed their guns at his chest and fired four rounds each at his chest. Relief, shock, confusion and rounds upon rounds of applause followed when the shots fired seemed to have no effect on the magician. This drew gasps of aww and reverence from the crowd, an ephemeral moment if I must say as it did not last long.

The stunt incited curiosity in a white man aboard our ship,he rushed into his cabin and fetched his rifle, eager to test the theory for himself. The magician at first paid him no heed and continued to dance but when he noticed that the man meant business he bolted through the crowd, head touching heels. The audience thought it was all part of the show ,but when the magician clearly did not return they angrily dispersed  it was later revealed that the guns had no bullets , only gunpowder.

As we  progressed ,the journey continued uneventful, with land in sight however, fate didn't want to let us off easily. A whirlpool emerged, thousand pounds of twirling destruction headed directly for us at alarming speed. Sharks gathered on the other side of the ship eager for a free meal, with our fates resigned we stubbornly clung to life . The twirling menace in it's path if destruction smashed our ship's hull and our ship began breaking apart. The ledge I held on to broke off and I fell into the ocean, to the waiting mouth of a shark.

I jolted awake, my pillow and bed drenched in pools of perspiration, my mother stood by the door she had clearly been telling my name and when I came to she told me to dress up or I'd be late for school then she left to make breakfast. I touched my stomach to check for a huge scar or open wound, nothing. I sighed in relief, thank goodness, it was all a dream, a somnolentic odyssey embarked upon by my mind into the far reaches of fantasy, it was all an illusion
