First Day, New Dreams At The University Of Lagos - 2wks ago

My first day at the University of Lagos was a mix of excitement, anxiety, and curiosity. I had dreamed of this moment for a long time, and finally walking through the school gates made it feel real. As I stepped onto the campus early that morning, the cool breeze from the Lagoon and the lively atmosphere immediately caught my attention.

The campus was already buzzing with activity. Students were rushing to lectures, some chatting happily with friends, while others walked briskly with books pressed to their chests. I felt small among the crowd, yet proud to be part of such a prestigious institution. The tall buildings, wide roads, and neatly arranged environment made UNILAG look even more beautiful than I had imagined.

Finding my way around was my first challenge. The campus was large, and I struggled to locate my faculty. Thankfully, some senior students noticed my confusion and kindly directed me. Their friendliness made me feel welcome and eased my nervousness. Along the way, I admired popular spots like the library and lecture halls, which I had only seen in pictures before.

My first lecture was both exciting and intimidating. The lecturer introduced the course and explained what was expected of us as university students. Unlike secondary school, everything felt more serious and independent. I realized that university life would require discipline, responsibility, and hard work.

During break time, I met a few fellow freshmen who were also experiencing their first day. We shared our fears, laughed about getting lost, and exchanged phone numbers. That moment made me realize I was not alone in this new journey.

As the day came to an end, I felt tired but fulfilled. My first day at the University of Lagos taught me that university life would be challenging, but also full of opportunities and growth. I went home that day feeling hopeful and proud to call myself a UNILAG student.
